Joel brings 12 years of acquisitions, management, and entrepreneurial experience as well a lifelong passion for travel to One Key in the role of Senior Vice President of Acquisitions.

Prior to joining One Key, Joel held the position of Vice President of Acquisitions & Development at Tanner & Haley Resorts (formerly Abercrombie & Kent Destinations). In this role, Joel was responsible for directing all aspects of real estate operations for the luxury destination club, managing a portfolio of over 200 luxury properties in more than 25 diverse destinations. Joel led the growth of the company’s luxury property management program that more than doubled the number of resort properties under management. He was instrumental in setting residence standards as well as indentifying and acquiring properties that consistently exceeded the expectations of members of the company’s three clubs.

Joel co-founded Genesis Capital Group, LLC, a lower tier middle market leveraged buyout firm. Joel was Principal and Managing Member and was responsible for identifying acquisition targets, raising capital, and managing all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations.

Having spent six years working in international commodities trading with Calport Resources and MRM Corporation, Joel traveled extensively and traded with companies on five continents. Joel played an integral role in establishing sales and procurement channels in the North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, South Africa, and the Middle East. Joel was also involved in several entrepreneurial real estate ventures where he was instrumental in identifying and acquiring properties as well as designing and managing development projects. Additionally, Joel worked in corporate financial planning at Mattel, the world’s largest toy company, assisting in formulating the company’s strategic plan.

Joel holds an MBA and a Masters of Real Estate Development, both from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from New York University.
